Pay It Forward: Mentoring & Volunteering
I’ve benefitted tremendously from mentors and fellowships over the years, and I enjoy paying that forward, whether it’s related to journalism or another field. If I can assist your organization, school, students, etc in some way, please be in touch.

PAST
Indy Kids: In 2018, I mentored middle-school students as they produced a newspaper by students, for students. We met once a month for editorial meetings, guiding the students through pitching, writing, editing and publishing stories.
#JUMP - Grand Street Settlement: One Saturday each month during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years, I joined JUMP as a volunteer chaperone on excursions throughout NYC.
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Junior Advisory Board: From 2015-2019, I was a member of the junior board of the CFF.
New York Cares: From 2013-2016, I volunteered regularly with NYCares, often teaching yoga to preschoolers and playing soccer with elementary school students. If you’re not sure where you’d like to volunteer, this is a great way to figure it out!
T.O.R.C.H. - Together Our Resources Can Help: For the 2008-2009 school year, I mentored high school students with aspirations of becoming documentary filmmakers and directors, running after-school workshops and chaperoning them on visits to media organizations throughout the city.
Art Science Research Laboratory: From 2008 to 2010, I volunteered as a writer and editor with the media watchdog arm of ASRL, iMedia Ethics.
Camp Fatima of NJ: From 2002-2009, I spent one week each summer as a volunteer counselor at this all-volunteer sleep-away camp for children with special needs.
